The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing that roadway reconstruction and bridge replacement and related construction operations are scheduled to take place on Taylor Avenue in Plymouth. The work will begin on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, and will continue through spring 2022.

Work will occur during daytime hours each week from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The work on Taylor Avenue will consist of reconstructing and resurfacing of pavement, replacing the bridge over the Beaver Dam Brook, making drainage improvements, improving waterworks, installing concrete sidewalks, granite curbing, pavement markings and new signage, constructing safety controls and other incidental work.

The bridge over the Beaver Dam Brook will be closed beginning on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, to facilitate the replacement of the bridge. The bridge is anticipated to be reopened in spring 2019. During the periods when the bridge is closed, traffic north of the bridge will be detoured to White Horse Beach Road to Route 3A/State Road to Manomet Point Road. Traffic south of the bridge will be detoured to Manomet Point Road to Route 3A/State Road to White Horse Beach Road.

Traffic management will consist of maintaining one lane of through traffic in each direction along Taylor Avenue. Drivers who are traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.

All scheduled work is weather dependent and/or may be impacted due to an emergency situation.
