Massachusetts State Police arrest wanted man and seize $25G

A motor vehicle stop on Route 16 in Revere yesterday led to the arrest of a man on numerous motor vehicle charges and an outstanding warrant. Police also seized a large amount of cash.

At about 4:00 p.m., Trooper Michael Daly, a recent graduate of the 84th RTT, and his Field Training Officer, Trooper Christopher Kane, stopped the operator of a 2015 Mercedes Benz C300 for texting while driving and having excessive window tint on Route 16 in Revere. The operator, who initially falsely identified himself by the use of a fraudulent registry document, was subsequently identified as ALEXANDER CARRASQUILLO, 40, of East Boston. Troopers determined that the operator had his right to operate in Massachusetts suspended and placed him under arrest.

During a search incident to arrest, troopers located approximately $5,000.00 in cash on CARRASQUILLO. During the motor vehicle inventory, they additionally located more than $20,000.00 in cash in the vehicle. After investigating the various alias’ used by CARRASQUILLO, troopers located an outstanding warrant for his arrest for trafficking in cocaine. A Revere Police K-9 was used to search the vehicle and the dog alerted on the packaging that was wrapped around the money. Troopers therefore seized more than $25,000.00.

CARRASQUILLO was booked at the State Police Barracks in Danvers on the following charges:

1. Warrant (trafficking in cocaine)
2. Operating after suspension
3. Non-transparent window
4. Improper use of a mobile phone
5. Forge or misuse an RMV document
6. Arrestee furnishing a false name
7. Disguise to obstruct justice
8. Motor vehicle operator refusing to identify self

CARRASQUILLO was held without bail pending his arraignment in Chelsea District Court today.
