Massachusetts State Trooper shoots male suspect in Brockton

A Massachusetts State Trooper was involved in a shooting incident earlier this morning on Colonel Bell Drive in Brockton.

Preliminary information suggests that just prior to 9 a.m., during a confrontation with a male suspect, the Trooper discharged his weapon. The male suffered a lower body gunshot injury that is believed to be non-life threatening.

The male has been transported to an area hospital. The Trooper is also being evaluated.

The shooting is under investigation by State Police Detectives, Crime Scene Services, and a specialized MSP team of senior investigators that responds to Trooper-involved shootings.
