Massachusetts State Police return to Esplanade for successful Independence Day celebrations

“Yet another successful July 4th event, this one all the more special for the return to the Esplanade after two years away.

We would like to thank all our personnel and all our law enforcement and public safety partners for their continuous planning leading up the event and their excellent execution of the operations plan.

With approximately 18,000 people from across the country coming to the Oval and Lagoon areas to enjoy the Boston Pops show, and an estimated 300,000 up and down both sides of the Charles River, we are glad that so many of the people and families we serve were able to safely enjoy their holiday here.

Thank you again to all who make this happen and Happy Fourth of July! #America #July4th #BostonPops #Cambridge”-Massachusetts State Police.
