“Early yesterday morning Trooper John Doherty, with his K-9 Partner Roxy, received a call from State Police-Millbury that the Millbury Police Department was seeking K-9 assistance for the search of a female juvenile.
Trooper Doherty responded to the house where the female was last seen and conducted an area check, then deployed K-9 Roxy on a track from a scent-article. K-9 Roxy tracked down a street before pulling right onto an intersecting roadway, then toward the woodline.
The pair checked several yards along the way and continued down that roadway eventually tracking to an overpass of the Massachusetts Turnpike. Roxy pulled to the left side of the road toward the fence line where she displayed a proximity alert and appeared to want to get through the fence down to the roadway below. Trooper Doherty and K-9 Roxy found a path around the end of the fence to below where she pulled under the overpass. Roxy tracked up the incline to the top near the bridge deck where the pair located the missing girl.
The juvenile was not injured and was brought out to a church parking lot where she was evaluated by EMS.”-Massachusetts State Police.
