Massachusetts State Police deploy stop sticks to catch stolen truck suspect

At approximately 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Massachusetts State Police cruisers responded to Route 93 southbound in Boston to assist MBTA Transit Police with a pursuit of a stolen pickup truck.

The suspect refused to stop for troopers and officers and the pursuit continued south on Route 93 to the Braintree split. Troopers deployed stop sticks twice in attempt to bring the pursuit to a peaceful conclusions; the suspect vehicle struck the sticks and sustained two flat tires.

The suspect continued to drive, exiting Route 93 onto Route 28 in Milton, where the pickup became disabled. The suspect was arrested by Transit Police with assistance from troopers.
