Massachusetts State Police Community Action Team arrests man for OUI, Drug Trafficking

A motor vehicle stop by Massachusetts State Police Troopers last night at about 5:05 p.m., on Main Street in Bourne, led to the arrest of Roslindale man for trafficking narcotics and operating under the influence of drugs amongst other charges.

Members of the Troop D Community Action Team observed the operator of a gray 2005 Honda Accord, later identified as JEANCARLOS GOMEZ, 24, texting on his cell phone while traveling in the Bourne eastbound rotary. Troopers followed the vehicle into the Enterprise Rent-a-Car lot and effected a car stop.

While conversing with GOMEZ, Troopers detected a strong odor of marijuana, which he admitted to smoking just prior to being stopped; Troopers subsequently placed him under arrest. As a result of a search of the vehicle, approximately four pounds of marijuana, 1,000 Adderall pills with a weight of 400 grams, five cartons containing 500 cartridges of THC, and $5,547 in cash were seized as evidence.

GOMEZ was transported to the State Police- Bourne Barracks where he was charged with the following offenses”

1. OUI-Drugs;
2. Negligent operation of a motor vehicle;
3. Possess with intent to distribute a Class D narcotic (2 counts);
4. Trafficking in a Class B narcotic;
5. Improper use of a mobile phone; and
6. No inspection sticker.

GOMEZ was released on $500 bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned today in Falmouth District Court.
