Massachusetts Police Officer dies in rollover car crash

“On the eve of Law Enforcement Memorial Day, we are saddened to hear of the passing of Randolph Police Officer Michael D. Beal. Rest easy brother.

The following is a statement from Randolph Chief of Police Anthony Marag:

“It is with deep sadness that I inform you that Officer Michael D. Beal was involved in a motor vehicle crash involving another vehicle this morning on Route 3 by the Derby Street exit.

Officer Beal died from his injuries sustained in the crash. Officer Beal was a 35-year veteran of our department. He was an amazing person and friend to all within this department. This amazing family man leaves behind a wife and eight children.

Please keep his family, friends, and members of the Randolph Police Department in your thoughts and prayers.”

Massachusetts State Police officials said the crash happened shortly after 6 a.m. Saturday on Route 3 south prior to Exit 35, which is for Route 228 and one of the vehicles ended up on its roof. Officer Beal was off duty at the time of the crash.

The Massachusetts State Police is currently investigating the crash.
