“Today, Colonel Kerry Gilpin summoned Trooper Stephanie Devlin, a member of the 83rd Recruit Training Troop that graduated on January 24, 2018. Trooper Devlin did not know why she was asked to meet with the Colonel this morning. Upon arrival, she was surprised when she was met not only by Colonel Gilpin, but also by her father, Lieutenant James Devlin of the MSP’s Division of Homeland Security, and MSP Major Joseph King.

Colonel Gilpin presented, and then pinned, Stephanie with her late mother’s badge, Number 776. Stephanie’s mother, Donna (Nicolosi) Devlin, was a graduate of the 63rd Recruit Training Troop, and was assigned to Crime Scene Services, where Stephanie is currently assigned. Donna Devlin passed away in 1991 when Stephanie was 16 months old.

A touching tribute, and a legacy that Stephanie will be able to carry on in memory of her mother.”-Massachusetts State Police.
