Massachusetts Police and Emergency Services respond to fatal accident, submerged vehicle

Shortly after 3 a.m. emergency personnel, including East Longmeadow Police and Fire, State Troopers from the MSP Springfield Barracks, and Springfield Police responded to Heritage Park on Main Street in East Longmeadow for a vehicle that had driven into a pond and become submerged in approximately 8 feet of water.

Massachusetts State Police Underwater Recovery Unit responded to search for possible occupants and found one person who was transported to Baystate Medical Center and was pronounced dead.
