NOTEWORTHY ARREST:

On Saturday evening, Kingston Police Department received a 911 call from a 13-year-old child regarding a disturbance at the Kingston Collection shopping mall. The 13-year-old caller provided a suspect description and communicated well with dispatch. Dispatch was able to communicate this information and suspect description to mall security and Kingston Police Department patrol officers, resulting in the locating and detention of the suspect by Kingston Police Department.

Upon investigation, including interviews with multiple witnesses, it is alleged that a 52-year-old male party attempted to entice a 15-year-old female child victim into sex acts. The act was not completed, thanks to the appropriate response from the victim and a group of juveniles.

As a result, the suspect was arrested and a complaint application is being submitted requesting the party face a felony charge of Enticing A Child Under 16. Martin Rosa, of Worcester, Massachusetts, is facing two charges of enticing a child under the age of 16.

Rosa allegedly offered to buy a 15-year-old girl food and sneakers in an attempt to get her to a private place and lied about his age, stating he was 35. Rosa is also accused of asking the girl to go to his home and following her throughout the shopping mall, indicating that he wanted to “get in her pants.”

Rosa allegedly told an officer that he will beat the charges because “we all know kids don’t show up to court.” Rosa is next scheduled to appear in court on May 26 for a pretrial hearing.

Great work by dispatch, patrol, mall security and especially the juveniles who called and provided detailed witness statements.” -Kingston Police Department.
