Massachusetts State Police investigating Dartmouth crash that claims life of 20-year old New Bedford woman

“Shortly before 2 a.m. Troopers on patrol out of the State Police-Dartmouth Barracks responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 195 west in Dartmouth that resulted in the death of the car’s lone occupant.

Responding Troopers and other emergency personnel observed the ejected victim, a 20-year-old woman, on the road near her 2009 Honda Civic, which had sustained significant damage.

The victim is identified as Cali McMullen, 20, of New Bedford. A paramedic determined Ms. McMullen to be deceased on scene.

Preliminary investigation indicates that, for reasons still to be determined, Ms. McMullen lost control of the Civic, which struck the guardrail, sustained heavy damage, and came to rest in the median.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Troop D of the Massachushetts State Police with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and State Police Detective Unit for Bristol County. Dartmouth Police, Fire, and EMS also responded.

All westbound lanes were closed at the crash scene to allow for the response and investigation. The road was fully re-opened at 5:15.” – Massachusetts State Police
