Effective January 1, 2023, the Massachusetts minimum wage will be $15.00 per hour. The service rate is $6.75 per hour. Also, Sunday premium pay and holiday pa are eliminated on January 1, 2023.

The minimum fair wage laws and regulations address basic minimum wage and overtime. They also cover pay for tipped employees, reporting pay, on-duty or on-call time, travel time, and expenses. Deductions for lodging, meals, uniforms, and required wage records are also covered.

The increase is a part of a law passed in June, 2018 which stated the state’s minimum wage would increase each year until 2023. When Gov. Baker signed this law in 2018, the state’s minimum wage was $11 an hour. The federal minimum wage is $7.25, which has remained the same since 2009.
