Early this morning, just about 1:00 a.m., Trooper Jack Doherty and his K 9 partner Duke assisted the Hampden Police Department with a search of a suspect who fled on foot after breaking into several cars.

Trooper Doherty deployed K9 Duke on a track from the area where the suspect was last seen entering the woods. K9 Duke pulled into a swampy area just inside the wood line where he alerted to the suspect’s presence by barking and attempting to jump into a patch of brush where the suspect was found lying face down. Hampden Police placed the suspect under arrest and found several stolen items on his person.
