This week, Governor Charlie Baker nominated Sherquita HoSang to the Parole Board. HoSang has served as a member of the Sex Offender Registry Board since August 2020. Before that, she served as a Juvenile Probation Officer for the Massachusetts Trial Court and previously as a social worker with the Department of Children and Families.

“Sherquita HoSang’s experiences as a Sex Offender Registry Board member and service to the Commonwealth as a probation officer and social worker for the Department of Children and Families have prepared her well for a position on the Parole Board,” said Governor Charlie Baker. “I am pleased to submit her nomination to the Governor’s Council for their advice and consent.”

“Sherquita HoSang’s experience throughout the Commonwealth with families and the criminal justice system will bring valuable insight to the Parole Board and those appearing before it,” said Lt. Governor Karyn Polito.

The Massachusetts Parole Board resides within the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security and is authorized to grant paroles and supervise parolees. The seven members of the Parole Board are appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Governor’s Council. Members are appointed for five year terms or to fill the unexpired term of a prior member. Board members serve on a full time basis. The Governor designates one member of the Board as the Chairman, who acts as the executive and administrative head of the Board.
