Around 8:30 pm on Friday, the Hopedale Fire Department’s A-2, Engine 4, Car 1, Car 2, Special Hazards, and the Rescue Boat responded to the scene of a vehicle in the water at Spindleville Pond in Hopedale after the victim’s car went through a stop sign, then an intersection before driving into the pond.

The unnamed woman was able to escape through the vehicle’s sunroof as it was sinking. Fire Department personnel utilized their rescue boat to reach the victim and removed her from the roof. She was brought to shore, treated on the scene, before being transported to Milford Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The car was removed from the water about an hour later. The accident is under investigation by the Hopedale Police Department.”
