On Saturday, WWII Veteran Arthur Schroeder, who was 99-years-old, was laid to rest following a service at West Congregational Church in Taunton. Mr. Schroeder was an Army veteran who served from 1942 to 1945 and earned a Bronze Star for his role in the Pacific Theatre of the war.

At the time of his death, Mr. Schroeder had no family members, so members of the MSP, the Taunton community, public safety, military veterans, veterans organizations, and political leaders showed their support by attending his services out of respect for his service to this country.

In attendance from the Department were three military veterans, Troopers Kurt Bourdon (Middleboro barracks) Brian Soares (K9 Unit), and Michael Kadingo (Troop D Community Action Team), and Trooper Cedric Carvalho (Troop D Community Action Team).

Our troopers were proud to honor a man who heroically served his country.
