Massachusetts Environmental Police charge one with multiple offenses

“On December 9, 2019, the Massachusetts Environmental Police received a call indicating that a deer may have been shot from a roadway in Hubbardston.

The call further indicated that threats of physical harm were made from one of the suspects towards the witness. During the investigation, it was determined that a deer had been shot and subsequently transported across state lines into New Hampshire.

With the assistance of New Hampshire State Game Wardens, the suspect was located and the illegally taken deer was seized. The investigation resulted in multiple criminal charges in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire for the two individuals involved in the matter.

Charges include:

• Illegal Taking of Deer (1 count); Aid/Abet Illegal Taking of Deer (1 count)
• No Antlerless Deer Permit Zone 5 (1 count); Aid/Abet No Antlerless Deer Permit Zone 5 (1 counts)
• Possess Untagged Deer (1 count); Aid/Abet Untagged Deer (1 count
• Illegal Export of Deer across State Lines (1 count); Aid/Abet Illegal Export of Deer across State Lines (1 count)
• Threaten to Commit a Crime (Assault; 1 count)
• Possession of Shotgun w/ No FID/LTC (1 count)

Arraignments are currently scheduled for June 2020.
