The Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (MSP VFAS) added GUY, 34, to its list of Most Wanted fugitives on July 8. Because of media coverage of GUY’s addition to the list, MSP VFAS Troopers this week received tips from the public placing GUY in the area of Wilton, Maine, a small, former mill town northwest of Augusta. MSP VFAS Troopers provided tips and case information to Maine State Police and the US Marshals office in Portland, Maine.

Yesterday, local police in Wilton observed GUY and attempted to apprehend him, but GUY fled from officers. Today at 1:30 p.m., GUY was located in a wooded area adjacent to Earth Way in Carthage, Maine, and placed in custody by a team of Maine State Troopers, Maine Game Wardens, and US Marshals Service Deputies. The town of Carthage is adjacent to Wilton.

GUY is wanted for the early morning fatal shooting of Bryan Omar Mendez, 25, on Howard Street in Lynn on Jan. 4, 2020. He is being held in Maine pending rendition to Massachusetts. His homicide case will be prosecuted by the Essex County District Attorney’s Office.
