Recently, the City of New Bedford Office of Housing and Community Development was awarded MassHousing’s Outstanding Partner Award for its commitment to homeownership, homebuyer education, lead paint removal and other related services and advocacy.

The New Bedford Office of Housing and Community Development received the recognition for its homeownership initiatives and homebuyer counseling programs including its leadership of the New Bedford-Fall River Housing Partnership. New Bedford was the only municipality to receive such recognition. “The New Bedford Office of Housing and Community Development is committed to promoting homeownership opportunities in New Bedford through education and creative initiatives. I am pleased that MassHousing has recognized the important work happening in New Bedford fostered by the Department of Housing and Community Development under the capable leadership of Director Patrick J. Sullivan,” said Mayor Jon Mitchell.

Patrick J. Sullivan, Director of the Office of Housing and Community Development said of the recognition, “Our Office was honored to be recognized by MassHousing with the Outstanding Partner Award. Lori Moring, our Deputy Director leads a great team that strives to create homeownership opportunities in New Bedford. We could not achieve all that we do for our residents without the support and collaboration of the many dedicated local lender and realtor partners.”
