Marion man arrested for OUI after car accident with small child in vehicle

On Sunday at 6:00 p.m., Wareham police officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Cranberry Highway at Main Avenue. On the scene officers found one car had been struck from behind while stopped at a red light.

As officers investigated they determined that the person who caused the accident appeared impaired. Furthermore, this individual had a small child in the car with him.

Officer Blaise Lalli arrested Konstantin Kostin, 45, of Marion, for operating under influence of liquor, operating under the influence with child endangerment, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

The person whose car was struck was transported to Tobey Hospital with non-life threating injuries, and the child who was uninjured, was given to a family member.

Mr. Kostin was transported to Wareham Police headquarters where he was processed and due in court on Monday morning.
