Man shot in the south end of New Bedford Sunday night

The New Bedford Police Department confirmed a shooting Sunday night in the area of Ruth and Roosevelt streets.

Police officers responded and discovered evidence of shots fired. Shortly after, St. Luke’s reported a shooting victim had arrived and was being treated for a gunshot wound to the leg and does not appear life-threatening.

Police officers are actively investigating the incident.
