This morning at approximately 3:30am Officers Johnny Galarza and Steven Alers were dispatched to Pier 3 regarding a man in the water. A captain of a nearby fishing vessel had heard screams and found the victim in the water holding on to an anchor rope. It appeared that the male had been in the water for quite some time and was going into shock. Officers were able to throw him a life ring and guide him to a dock ladder. With the assistance of the fire department, the victim was brought out of the water. He was completely nude and was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital by medics where he was being treated for hypothermia and will survive.

He is described as a 46 yr. old Rhode Island man and is believed to be a fisherman from one of the docked vessels.
