New Bedford Police arrested Scott Almeida, 46, of New Bedford, on Oct. 3 for an armed robbery that day at Jalice Café, 1468 Acushnet Ave.

After the arrest, an investigation by Det. Kevin Lawless linked Almeida to five other robberies, including three robberies and an attempted robbery at the same 7-11 on 1499 Acushnet Ave.

A search warrant executed Tuesday at Almeida’s home located scratch tickets with serial numbers that matched tickets taken during one of the robberies. Clothing was also found that fit the description of clothes he wore during some of the 7-11 robberies.

Almeida was charged in connection with the following robberies:

  • 7-11, 1499 Acushnet Ave., armed robbery Aug. 29; attempted armed robbery, Aug. 31; and unarmed robbery Sept. 3 and Oct. 1.
  • He was also charged with armed robbery of Our Lady of Angels Band Club, 1446 Acushnet Ave. on Sept. 29.

Almeida is currently being held at the Ash Street Jail in New Bedford.
