Man arrested with loaded .380 firearm, cocaine in Slainte Irish Pub

New Bedford police officers assigned to station 1 in downtown New Bedford were dispatched to the Slainte Irish Pub located at 34 Union Street in regards to a male in possession of a handgun.

As result of their investigation, officers located a male with a loaded .380 firearm (Jimenez Arms). The male was arrested without incident. He was also found to be in possession of 5 small bags of cocaine. The incident was reported Sunday morning at approximately 1:00 AM. Arrested and charged was:

22-year old Joel Matthew Morales of New Bedford:

1. Unlawful carrying of a firearm
2. Carrying a loaded firearm
3. Possession with intent to distribute class B cocaine
4. Possession of a firearm in commission of a felony
