Man Arrested on Firearms, Narcotic Charges

Nicholas Martin, 32, of East Weymouth, was arrested on multiple charges.

Last evening, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Trooper Ryan Dolan of the State Police Leominster Barracks stopped a Acura sedan on Interstate 495 Southbound in Marlborough for motor vehicle violations.

The driver was identified as NICHOLAS R. MARTIN, 32, of East Weymouth. As a result of an investigation, with the assistance of Troopers Alena Sullivan and Kurt Bourdon, MARTIN was found to be in illegal possession of a 12-gauge Mossberg shot gun, ammunition, several knives and a canister of pepper spray. MARTIN is not licensed to carry firearms. MARTIN was placed under arrest. MARTIN was then also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, and two bags with a substance believed to be heroin.

MARTIN was brought to the Leominster Barracks for booking. Bail was set at $5,000, pending his arraignment in Marlborough District Court.

MARTIN was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a class a drug (Heroin)
  • Carry unloaded rifle/shotgun on public way
  • Possess firearm without permit
  • Possession of ammunition without FID card
  • Carry firearm with ammunition
  • Carry dangerous weapon (Illegal knives)
  • Marked lanes violation
  • Speeding
  • State highway violation
