Man arrested for choking his girlfriend in Huttleston Motel

At 11:45am on Friday, March 8th 2016, Fairhaven Police responded to the Huttleston Motel, located at 128R Huttleston Avenue, in response to a disturbance that was taking place in one of the rented rooms. When officers arrived, they learned that a male party allegedly assaulted and choked his girlfriend. The male party was taken into custody and arrested without incident.

During the investigation, officers recovered a small amount of cocaine, a small amount of heroin and a 38 caliber handgun with 6 rounds of ammunition. Arrested was 38 year old Ezell Carter of 18 Hamilton Street, Brockton. Carter, who does not have a firearms license, was charged with domestic assault and battery, strangulation, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, threatening to commit murder and rape. He will be arraigned in New Bedford Third District Court.
