Man arrested for attempted arson in Wareham

On Sunday, at 2:25 p.m., Wareham police officers Steve Joy and Sergeant Paul Somers responded to an address in Onset for a report of a male that had doused several items in his residence with gasoline.

Upon the arrival of officers, it was determined that he had fled the scene, however, the suspect was located several hours later in Bourne. He was placed under arrest by Officer Pillsbury after being stopped by Bourne Police.

Ben Baum, 23, of Onset, is charged with attempted arson of a dwelling house.
