Man Arrested Carrying Defaced Firearm, Narcotics in Salisbury

Early Monday morning, Trooper Donald Henry of the State Police Barracks in Newbury was on patrol of Route 110 in Salisbury, when he signaled a Nissan Altima to stop for motor vehicle violations. The vehicle did not immediately stop, but continued on, eventually pulling into a parking lot of a local gym.

As a result of an investigation, Trooper Henry found the driver to be in possession of a loaded CM9 KAHR firearm with a defaced serial number, multiple bags of marijuana, totaling 202 grams, and five 8mg doses of Suboxone, which is a controlled Class B substance, a double edge knife with a 6-inch blade and a long-handled club. The driver is not licensed to carry a firearm or ammunition.

The man was placed under arrest and transported to the State Police Newbury Barracks for booking. He was charged with multiple offenses, including ; Possession of a firearm without FID card, Receiving firearm with defaced number, Possession of class B drug.
