22-year old Lyndsey Littlefield of East Taunton crowned Miss Massachusetts

Lyndsey Littlefield, 22, of East Taunton was selected as Miss Massachusetts 2019 on Saturday, June 29, at the 80th Anniversary Miss Massachusetts Scholarship Pageant. Competing as Miss Taunton, she was chosen from among 20 contestants at the Hanover Theatre in Worcester. Littlefield was awarded a $12,000 scholarship, and will compete at the Miss America Pageant at a date and location to be announced soon. The broadcast will be on the NBC Television network.

“They called Molly Caron’s name and I thought they messed up”, Littlefield said about the moment she learned that she had won the competition. “I looked at Molly as she told me “you won” and I burst into tears. My dream since day one was to win Miss Massachusetts as Miss Taunton; and I had just done it. I crossed the finish line of a five long year race.”

On competing at Miss America, she said, “I’ve had the opportunity to meet people across the country through Ninja Warrior, I’m excited to meet all the state titleholders and see where Miss America will be held! I am a Ninja Warrior, no matter where it’s held I look forward to adapting and conquering”.

Lyndsey is a senior at Bridgewater State University where she plans to receive a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology with a concentration in Dental Pre-Professional, along with a minor in Chemistry and Dance. She then plans to attend Tufts University to become a Doctor of Dental Medicine, working as a General Dentist. She is on the Dean’s List and was selected as a Researcher in Bridgewater State University’s Water for Cambodia Project. She is a Biology tutor and a member of Bridgewater State University’s Dance Company. She is a also a mentor at Girls Inc. Lyndsey is a Ninja Warrior competitor and a Spartan Trifecta Athlete and has raced over 200 miles globally. She qualified and competed at the 2018 Obstacle Course Racing World Championships in London, England. An accomplished dancer, she performed a lyrical dance to Light That Never Fails by Andra Day.

During her year of service, she will highlight her platform, “Girls Inc: Be Strong, Smart and Bold” as well as promoting The Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, the national platform of the Miss America Organization.

Lyndsey is also a 2015 graduate of the Bristol Plymouth Regional Technical High School in Taunton. She is the daughter of Michelle and David Littlefield of East Taunton.

In addition to her $12,000 award, Littlefield received a $350.00 Frederick T. McCarthy Interview Award scholarship as the Preliminary Interview Winner. She will also receive gifts and services from numerous pageant sponsors from across the state as part of her prize package, including the use of an Infiniti QX50 for her year of service donated by a new sponsor Infiniti of Hanover.

Other award winners were:

• First runner up: Molly Caron of Boston, Miss Boston received a $3000 scholarship.
• Second runner up: Caroline Holladay of Hadley, competing as Miss Commonwealth, received a $2500 scholarship.
• Third runner up: Emily Yeo of West Bridgewater, competing as Miss Freetown, received a $2000 scholarship. Additionally, she received the $150.00 scholarship as a Preliminary Evening Wear Award winner.
• Fourth runner up: Olivia Clark of Westfield, competing as Miss Pioneer Valley, received a $1500 scholarship. She also received a $150.00 scholarship as a Preliminary Evening Wear Award winner.

The rest of the Semi-Finalists received a $300 scholarship:

• Sarah Tong of Mendon, Miss Bay State. She was also the recipient of the $1000 Miss America Organization State Academic Scholarship.
• Chelsea Vuong of Cambridge, Miss Cambridge
• Christine Lattouf of Norton, Miss Middlesex County. She was also the recipient of the $1000 Miss America State Community Service Award.
• Meighread Dandeneau of Fairhaven, Miss New Bedford
• Alexandra Bettencourt of Peabody, Miss North Shore. She was also awarded a $400 Preliminary Talent Award.
• Olivia Marques of New Bedford, Miss Quequechan. She was the winner of the CMNH Miracle Maker Award of $400. This year, she raised over $4000 for CMNH. She was also the Online Voting Award Winner.
• Whitney Wilson of Boston, Miss Suffolk County. She was also awarded a $400 Preliminary Talent Award.

The other special award winner was:

• Renée Banks of West Bridgewater, Miss Worcester County, was the recipient of a $200 scholarship as the Most Talented Non-Finalist. This scholarship is in memory of Leonard and Margaret Willis. She also was the CMNH Miracle Maker Award Winner and received an additional $300 scholarship.

The remaining contestants each awarded a $100 scholarship were:

• Meghan Rubadou of East Taunton, Miss Blackstone Valley
• Alexis Ferreira of Acushnet, Miss Bristol County
• Samantha Runshaw of Belchertown, Miss Central Massachusetts
• Megan Sylvia of New Bedford, Miss Collegiate Area
• Debbie McNally of Medford, Miss Mayflower
• Shaniah Bartlett of Melrose, Miss South Shore
• Jackie O’Keefe of Monson, Miss Western Massachusetts
