Lucky 7 variety store in New Bedford robbed

Last night (9/25/14) at approximately 7:45pm an unarmed robbery occurred at the Lucky 7 variety store located at 701 Cottage St. The clerk was not harmed.

The suspect entered the store and asked to purchase 4 packs of Newport cigarettes and handed the clerk a debit card. When the clerk swiped the card, it was declined. As she was in the process of taking back the cigarettes, the suspect snatched them out of her hand and fled to a waiting vehicle that was last seen heading south on Cottage St. It appears to be a dark colored sedan.

Suspect Description:

• White male approximately 5-10 and medium build with short hair
• White T-Shirt and dark colored sweatpants
• White sneakers
• An unknown tattoo on his left forearm
