  1. That is exactly how my father was seriously injured on route 140 around same ramp in 1974. He was driving truck and saw a car full of teens flip over in Median and secured his truck to assist when he was hit just at the edge of reaching the median where the teens were trapped in a roll over. The teens all survived and watched as my father was hit by an oncoming car at 70 MPH. He was in Intensive care for 3 months unresponsive not expected to live. He was in a coma at which he came out of 3 months later and many reconstructive bone surgeries later in the hospital 6 months, home in a hospital for for an additional year in traction then with extensive rehab eventually walked again. His injuries caused many years of suffering. Never abandon your vehicle on the highway to assist. Call for help and let the proper authorities secure the assist.
