With over 200 hundred teachers requesting programs each school year, JA volunteers should be professional, motivated and enthusiastic individuals who can deliver age-appropriate, activity driven curriculum to students K-12.

Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts is dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices. JA programs empower students to make a connection between what they learn in school and how it can be applied in the real world – enhancing the relevance of their classroom learning and increasing their understanding of the value of staying in school.

Junior Achievement programs are delivered by corporate and community volunteers, providing relevant, hands-on experiences that give students knowledge and skills in financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship. We are searching for volunteers to conduct pre-planned lessons to students, grades K-12.

As a Junior Achievement volunteer you will make a difference in the lives of young people by encouraging:

  • Students’ desire to stay in school and appreciate lifelong learning.
  • Positive attitudes toward work and toward contributing to a diverse society.
  • Knowledge and skills that will help them make smart financial and career decisions, strengthening our community as a whole.
  • Business and education partnerships that create a bridge between the classroom and the workplace.

With over 200 hundred teachers requesting programs each school year, JA volunteers should be professional, motivated and enthusiastic individuals who can deliver age-appropriate, activity driven curriculum to students K-12. No experience necessary! Activities are interactive, hands-on, and designed to be taught by individuals who are not teachers. We provide extensive training and all materials needed. The required time commitment is typically 30 minutes to 1 hour, one day a week for 5-7 weeks.

This is a great way to get involved and support valuable financial literacy and work readiness education for our youth!
