Incidents on Route 24, One Involves Dartmouth Man

This afternoon, at approximately 4:26 p.m., the State Police Milton Barracks received multiple calls reporting a crash on Route 24, north of exit 18 in Avon. Upon arrival, Trooper Joseph Durning, discovered that a 2002 Ford pickup, driven by a 30-year-old man from Brockton, had been traveling southbound on Route 24, had a wheel come off of the pickup, rolled across the median, and bounced into the windshield of a 2015 Toyota Sienna van. The driver of the van, a 45-year-old man from Dartmouth suffered a laceration to his head and was transported to Boston Medical Center for treatment. Two passengers were transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton for treatment. The driver of the Ford pickup, a 30-year-old man from Brockton was not injured.

Then, at approximately 6:12 p.m., Trooper Durning responded to the same area, Route 24 Northbound, north of exit 18, for a crash involving debris from another vehicle. Upon arrival, troopers discovered that a chock-block had fallen off of a vehicle, struck a 2007 Toyota Camry, then bounced and went into the windshield of a 2008 Jeep Patriot. The driver of the Toyota, a 30-year-old man from Hyde Park, was transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the Jeep, a 27-year-old man from Danvers suffered lacerations to his face, and was transported to South Shore Hospital for treatment.jeep patriot

Injuries sustained in both incidents, are not considered life-threatening. There is no photo available of the tire through the windshield incident.
