The South Coast Hot Jobs List – 14 Aug 2013

The Greater New Bedford unemployment rate is much higher than the rest of Massachusetts, but believe it or not there really are a lot of jobs available for qualified applicants. Sometimes the barrier to a new job can be the lack of information on available job openings. To solve this, each week New Bedford Guide will be working with the New Directions Southcoast (also known as the Greater New Bedford Career Center) and pulling jobs from our jobs database to inform job seekers about the hottest jobs in the area. We will define “Hot Jobs” as those jobs that need to be filled by the employer immediately. 1. Quality Assurance Tech #2866570 – 2nd & 3rd shift. Responsible for inspecting the process and production lines to monitor and verify the manufacturing and labeling product that will meet legal and company requirements. The ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor Degree and (1) year in a manufacturing environment with quality assurance and audit experience. Good math and computer skills desired. Will train the right candidates.

2. OTR Class A CDL #2860490 – OTR Class A CDL driver position, with runs to MA/CT/NY, and be home every night. You must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings. 2-5 years’ experience desired. Paid well, come in for application and possible interview.

3. After School Site Coordinator/Group Leader #2857224 – Site Coordinator:

A site coordinator shall be at least 20 years of age and meet one of the following sets of requirements:

• Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Guidance, Human Services, Nursing, Psychology, Physical Education, Recreation, Child Psychology, the arts, Social Work, Sociology, or Child Care: and have 6 months of experience working with school age children; or
• Have a Bachelor’s Degree in any field or an Associate’s Degree in any field of study listed above and have 9 months of experience working with school age children; or
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent; and have one year of experience working with school age children.

Group Leaders

A group leader shall be at least 18 years of age and meet one of the following sets of requirements:

• Have a Bachelor’s Degree or an Associates’ Degree; and have 3 months of experience working with school age children; or
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent; and 6 months of experience in a licensed facility working with school age children including 3 months of supervised experience at a school age child care program; or
• Have 9 months of experience in a licensed facility with school age children including 3 months of supervised experience at a school age care program

4. Embroidery Machine Operator #2857210 – A local company is in need of an experience Embroidery Machine Operator. The ideal candidate will have a good work history and be reliable and dependable. Will train right candidate

5. Experienced Screen Printer #2857209 – A local company is in need of an experienced screen printer. The ideal candidate will have a good work history and be reliable and dependable. Will train right applicant.

6. Part Time Animal Control Officer #2881673 – PT Asst. Animal Control Officer. Hours include weekdays after 4:00pm & weekends. Collect stray animals; investigate complaints; rescue remove deceased animals. H.S. Diploma, valid driver’s license.

7. Part Time Watchperson #2881680 – Seasonal PT Watchperson needed for the Whale’s Tooth Parking Lot. Overnight shift – 12:00 AM – 5:00 AM. Must have valid Driver’s license. Background and CORI check required.

8. Housekeepers #2881727 – We are looking for YOU to join our team at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel!
Room Attendant positions, full-time, part-time and mothers hours available.
An ideal candidate will be someone who can follow directions and be a responsible member of a great team, be flexible and available weekends and holidays. Hourly rate $10.00/hr.

9. Servers #2881717 – Come Join US!!! No Experience Necessary. We will Train YOU!

• Are you passionate about being part of team dedicated to providing dining room service that is warm, welcoming and world class? Are you naturally motivated to provide prompt, courteous and efficient food and beverage service with attention to detail?
• The Sea Crest Beach Hotel is currently seeking Servers for all shifts. Duties include describing and merchandising food and beverages to customers, accurately taking and delivering orders in a timely manner, clearing and setting tables, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation, performing setup, breakdown, side duties and working as a team to ensure a positive dining experience for all guests. Experience preferred but will train the right candidate! Must work flexible hours, holidays and have weekend availability.

10. General Maintenance #2888321 – Must be mechanically inclined, able to read and write English, hard working and dependable. Some electrical, plumbing and ability to work with wood a PLUS. Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must have a valid driver’s license. Also MUST have high school diploma. Will train qualified candidate.
