Holy Family-Holy Name School Principal Cecilia Felix announces retirement

Ater 41 years of teaching in New Bedford, Holy Family-Holy Name School Principal Cecilia Felix announced her retirement:

“Dear Students, Teachers, Pastors, Parents, Parishioners, Volunteers, Benefactors and Friends of Holy Family Holy Name School,

I write this letter as Principal with a heavy yet grateful heart. After much prayer I will be retiring due to medical reasons as of July 1st.

It has been an honor and a blessing to have worked with the faith filled and dedicated teachers through the 41 years I have been at Holy Family Holy Name School starting first as a teacher and then serving as principal for the past 28 years. I have also worked with incredible students, dedicated parents, great pastors, supportive parishioners, wonderful volunteers, vested benefactors and treasured friends. However, what has brought me the greatest joy throughout my 41 years in Catholic education has been being a part of a child’s life – recognizing each student as a child of God and fully embracing our mission of preparing each student for a life of faith, service, virtue, and academic excellence.
I am deeply grateful for the many caring and supportive people who have shared the mission of Holy Family Holy Name School. I give thanks for my supportive family without whose daily support and the grace of God I would not have been able to serve in HIS Name.

Be assured of my daily prayer for each and every one of you. I humbly ask that you pray for me in the days ahead that I may continue to “love kindness and to walk humbly with my God.” (Micah 6:8)
I am confident this new beginning will be an exciting time in the rich tradition of Holy Family Holy Name School.

Please know that each of you and Holy Family Holy Name School will remain in my prayers and heart forever.

God Bless,
Cecilia M Felix
Principal of HFHN”
