“A Hero Returns Safely to The State Police.

Among the unrest in Afghanistan, the Massachusetts State Police are happy to announce the safe return of one of our own after a difficult deployment to that country.

United States Army Major Brendan Carnes, a Trooper assigned to investigate homicides in Essex County, returned this afternoon from an 8 month deployment in Afghanistan where he admirably performed his duty to our country.

He was met at the airport by his grateful parents Peter and Karen who breathed a collective sigh of relief at the return of their son. Peter Carnes is the former Chief of Police in Wenham and retired as the Chief of Police in Yarmouth.”-Massachusetts State Police.
