HELP WANTED: City of New Bedford seeking to fill a Water Works Utility Person vacancy

PAY: 14.78hr – $19.80hr

Maintains and upkeeps forty-eight miles of watershed area property, including all buildings on Watershed area.

Maintains watershed area including openings of roads, fire lanes, and streams. Maintains proper water flow of dams and streams. Repairs vandalized property such as gates, poles, fences, etc. Maintains grounds around property and stations. Performs general maintenance on buildings. May be required to work on any part of the distribution system throughout the City. Must have a strong work ethic with the ability to work independently, efficiently and effectively without constant supervision.
Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent preferred. Requires one year of prior experience.

Possession of a valid Massachusetts driver’s license with good driving record. Possession of a Hoisting 2B license (Hoisting 4A license preferred) is required or the ability to obtain one within six months from date of hire.
