As the coordinator of the Women in Science program, Ms. Cerrito has been able to introduce a new generation to a wide variety of marine careers.

The Ocean Explorium, with generous support from the Women’s Fund of the Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts, presents the third annual speaker series aimed at promoting the “STEM” subjects of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to girls and young women.

The Girls Interested in Real Life Science (GIRLS) series runs each Thursday in March. Formerly named Women in Science + Engineering (WiSE), the series features inspiring speakers drawn from professions wherein the STEM subjects play a major role.
