Yesterday, April 24, 2021, two old artillery shells were discovered at the Town of Freetown Transfer Station on Howland Road. Freetown Police and Fire units were dispatched. State Police bomb disposal technicians arrived on scene and detonated the shells at approximately 5:00PM.

While there was no danger to residents during the disposal process, a reverse 911 call was made so that residents were alerted to the loud report and vibration caused by the detonation.” -Lt. Steven E. Abbott.
