Tour Nasketucket Bay’s fields, forests and wetlands during a free guided bike tour on Sunday, May 5 in Fairhaven and Mattapoisett!

Community members are invited to tour Nasketucket Bay’s forests, fields and wetlands on a free nine-mile guided bike tour on Sunday, May 5 at 10:00 a.m., led by the Buzzards Bay Coalition.

The tour will begin at the Nasketucket Bay State Reservation parking lot on Brandt Island Road in Mattapoisett. Participants will travel on back roads and along the Phoenix Bike Path in Mattapoisett and Fairhaven. The tour will pass and stop at several scenic viewpoints to learn about the Nasketucket Bay Land Conservation Project, an effort to protect 400 acres of natural, undeveloped areas around Nasketucket Bay. Then the group will bike back to the parking area.

The bike tour is part of the Coalition’s series of Bay Adventures: guided excursions that connect people with nature throughout the Buzzards Bay watershed. Participants should bring their own water and needed supplies. All participants must wear a bike helmet.
