After a month long, comprehensive investigation conducted in conjunction with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection Environmental Strike Force (MassDEP ESF), and its Southeast Regional Office (SERO) in Lakeville; the Middleboro Police Department has issued court complaints and summonses for the following individuals:

– Kent C. Ingraham, 51 years of age of Middleboro
– Shane Pettey, 21 years of age of Lakeville
– Francis Shannon, 50 years of age of Berkley
– Timothy Murphy, 56 years of age of Middleboro.

The four individuals were caught on surveillance camera (separate incidents) illegally dumping trash and household debris on Walnut Street in Middleboro between March 7, 2017 and April 24, 2017. The hidden cameras were provided by Massachusetts DEP as part of its ten (10) year Candid Camera, a program set up to assist municipalities in addressing illegal dumping. The cameras were secreted in an area on Walnut Street known by police as a site for illegal dumping.

The cases were investigated by MPD Detective Tim Needham, working with technical staff from MassDEP ESF and SERO. The individuals will appear before a magistrate at a later date at the Wareham District Court.

MPD would like to thank the Massachusetts DEP ESF and its Southeast Regional Office for their assistance with the investigation.
