Five drug overdose in New Bedford on Wednesday, one fatal

There were five reported drug overdoses in New Bedford on Wednesday – one of them resulted in the death of a 51-year old man. One of the non-fatal overdoses occurred at Brooklawn Park.

According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office, a man found his 51-year-old father unresponsive in his bedroom shortly before 6:45 a.m. and called 911. On the bedroom floor, police report that they found an empty corner baggie. Bristol County District Attorney’s office is investigating the death as an apparent fatal overdose although the toxicology report is still pending.

The overdoses were reported by the New Bedford Police Department on October 2 as follows:
– 1:26 am at an Ashley BLVD apartment
– 6:42 am at an Abbott Street apartment (fatal)
– 12:15 pm at Brooklawn Park
– 5:52 pm at an Old Plainville Road home
– 6:42 pm at a Mount Pleasant Street apartment
