Fight at local eatery leads to outstanding warrant and cocaine charges

On Sunday, October 15th at approximately 10:30 pm, Wareham PD officers responded to Shenanigan’s Bar & Grill on Rte. 28 for a reported disturbance involving 2 males fighting in the parking lot.

Upon arrival, officers noticed an apparently intoxicated male in the parking lot who said he had been involved in a fight with another male who since left the scene. The male, identified as 47 year old Wareham resident Danye Thomas, was placed into custody due to being intoxicated and having an outstanding arrest warrant.

During booking procedures at the police station, Danye Thomas was found to be in possession of approximately 19 grams of cocaine packaged for sale, 4 Oxycontin pills, and 10 Oxycodone pills, along with $100 cash. As a result of the drugs found in his possession, Mr. Thomas has been charged with the following:

1. Possession With Intent to Distribute Class B Substance Subsequent Offense (Oxycontin).
2. Possession With Intent to Distribute Class B Substance, Subsequent Offense (Oxycodone)
3. Trafficking Cocaine Over 18 grams

Mr. Thomas was later checked at Tobey Hospital for injuries sustained during the disturbance and returned to WPD. He was scheduled to be arraigned on the criminal charges today at Wareham District Court.
