FBI involved after Neo-Nazi group found recruiting in New Bedford neighborhood

In what is widely categorized as a Neo-Nazi group, “NSC-131” has been protesting in Massachusetts since 2019. Recently, flyers were found in the west end of New Bedford on cars and front porches in an attempt to recruit new members to its group.

Some of the flyers read, “New Englanders! You are being replaced! Organize and resist!”. This is in relation to the migrant housing crisis taking place in Massachusetts. One would assume they heard the news of migrants being housed in Fairhaven and Dartmouth which is why they are now recruiting in the south coast.

Mayor Mitchell quickly released a statement on social media regarding the situation,

As has been reported today, leaflets were found this morning on cars in the West End that espouse white supremacist ideas. I want to make clear to everyone that the messages in these materials have no place in New Bedford, and I categorically condemn any attempt to enlist support for them.

The City promptly brought the matter to the attention of the FBI and remains in communication with the Bureau. Similar leaflets were recently discovered elsewhere in Massachusetts, and we do not have reason to believe that those responsible have any particular connection to New Bedford. Wherever they are from, they are not welcome in our city.
