Original article:

“A 33-year-old Fall River man is being charged with Murder in connection to the homicide, which occurred earlier today in that city.

Fall River Police responded to the Globe Car Wash on Broadway after receiving a 911 call at 12:36 pm today regarding a potential shooting.

When first responders arrived on scene, they found the victim, Jessenia Simmons, 45, of New Bedford, already deceased in one of the car wash bays.

The defendant, Angelo O. Leo, initially fled from the scene of the shooting in a vehicle but turned himself in to police in Tiverton, RI about a half-hour later.

It is unclear at this time when he will be arraigned on the Murder charge. Since he was taken into custody in Rhode Island, he will first have to appear in a Newport County Court tomorrow morning as a Fugitive from Justice. If the defendant waives rendition, he could be transported to Fall River District Court for arraignment sometime tomorrow.

The investigation into the homicide remains active and ongoing at this time. No further information on the facts and circumstances of the case can be disseminated until the defendant is arraigned in open court.”-Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
