Upon arrival, they encountered the defendant who appeared under the influence of either drugs, alcohol, or both, and was immediately hostile toward them.
He was identified as Mr. JOHN LOPES, 28, of Fall River. LOPES was assaultive towards police, resisted their effort to place him into custody, and destroyed a decorative item in the apartment.
