Just after 9am Thursday morning, Fairhaven Police Detectives, along with the Massachusetts State Police, executed search warrants at 15 Shirley Street and 39 Alden Road. 49 year old Mark Clinton was arrested for an outstanding warrant charging him with human trafficking. The Falmouth Police Department applied for the warrant through Barnstable District Court.
The search warrants that were executed in Fairhaven were part of an investigation that was conducted in conjunction with the Falmouth and Sandwich Police Departments and the Massachusetts State Police. Because of the nature of the allegations against Clinton, a Special Agent from the FBI assisted with the search warrants in case evidence was developed that would generate the need for federal charges being filed.
The Fairhaven search warrants were executed at Clinton’s residence, located at 15 Shirley Street, second floor and the Ancient Chinese Wellness Canter, which is a business owned by Clinton, located at 39 Alden Road. Search warrants were also executed in Sandwich and Falmouth at two other Chinese Wellness Centers owned by Clinton.
Clinton was booked on the Falmouth warrant at the Fairhaven Police Department and transported to Third District Court in New Bedford. This investigation is still active and ongoing and further charges may be filed.
