41st Fairhaven Father’s Day Road Race to be held on Sunday, June 21

Registration deadline Saturday, June 20 at 4:00 p.m.

More than 2,000 runners from all across New England will gather in Fairhaven on Sunday, June 21, 2015, for the running of the 41st annual Father’s Day Road Race. The morning actually includes two races, a 10K and a 5K. Both TAC sanctioned courses wind through the lovely, historical streets of Fairhaven. There is prize money for top female and male runners in each race and there are awards in nine age divisions. Medals will be given to the first 2,500 finishers and T-shirts and tavern mugs will be given to the first 2,500 registered entrants.

The race begins at Hastings Middle School, 30 School Street, Fairhaven. It is sponsored by Fairhaven merchants and Fairhaven Road Race Inc. The race raises more than $20,000 each year, which is donated to local community groups.

The course records for the race are Jose Rocha, 29:36, (1986) for male and Maria Louise Servin, 33:18 (1996) for female.

Registration deadline Saturday, June 20 at 4:00 p.m. No post entries. Early number pickup is June 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Hasting Middle School. For information, call 508-965-5064 or 508-965-2072. Online registration is at http://jbrace.com
