Stage Management Workshop

Have you been wanting to learn more about back stage activities? Have you been thinking about taking on the role of “Stage Manager” for a theatrical production? Are you experienced, but would consider a little refresher? Or maybe, you’d just like to join the backstage team at Your Theatre?
Held at the Your Theatre Playhouse at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church at 136 Rivet Street at County Street in New Bedford, the two-hour sessions will begin on Thursday, November 30 at 7pm, and continue each Thursday for four weeks. The workshop will be conducted by Lawrence R. Houbre, Jr., Your Theatre’s Technical Director.
The workshop is open to the public with a fee of $20, YTI Members pay $15 and YTI Subscribers pay $10. Attendance is limited to eight participants. The workshop covers theories and techniques of theatrical stage management and its importance in the preparation and presentation of productions. Those completing the workshop will also gain a solid basic knowledge of how to apply the subjects being covered.
Some of the topics include: Props management, Actor management, Cue management, Blocking recording, Rehearsal management, Performance management.
All supplies needed to participate in the workshop will be provided.
